PKN Orlen AGM approves dividend, name change

June 21 (Reuters) - Shareholders of Poland's biggest oil refiner, PKN Orlen (PKN.WA), approved a record full-year 2022 dividend of 5.50 zlotys ($1.35) per share at Wednesday's annual general meeting (AGM).

The dividend is based on a strategy update announced on Feb. 28, which make annual dividend distributions equivalent to 40% of the previous year's adjusted free cash flow.

A majority of shareholders voted in support of a resolution to change the name of PKN Orlen to Orlen.

Poland's Eurocash bets on promotions as consumers cut back

GDANSK, March 28 (Reuters) - Poland's largest wholesale consumer goods distributor, Eurocash (EUR.WA), is stepping up promotions as consumers rein in spending amid high inflation, its chief executive officer Pawel Surowka told a conference call on Tuesday.

The comments came after Eurocash reported a net profit of 67.1 million zlotys ($15.52 million) for last year. That compared with a loss of 113.6 million zlotys a year earlier, and sent the company's shares up by more than 10% in morning trade

Polish retailer LPP might reduce number of warehouses to cut logistics costs

Polish utility Tauron trades blows with boiler maker Rafako over cause of plant shutdown

GDANSK, Aug 30 (Reuters) - Polish power utility Tauron (TPE.WA) said on Tuesday that repairs to its boiler had been completed and it will be back online on Friday, as it traded blame with boiler maker Rafako (RFK.WA) over the cause of the problem.

Tauron has been disconnected from Poland's power grid since Aug. 6 due to a fault with the boiler and was asked by Poland's energy market regulator URE to explain the reasons for halting operations at its 910 MW Jaworzno power plant.

PKO Bank Polski buys 14.2 mln shares in PKN Orlen from state treasury

GDANSK, Sept 30 (Reuters) - PKO Bank Polski PKO.WA said on Friday it signed a deal to acquire 14,161,080 shares in Polish energy firm PKN Orlen PKN.WA from Poland's state treasury.

The bank said it would buy the shares, representing a 2% stake at Orlen stock's closing price on Thursday.

Orlen closed at 53.40 zlotys per share, which puts the deal value at 756.2 million zlotys ($1.53 billion).

Polish insurer PZU PZU.WA had signed a similar deal on Thursday to buy 14,161,080 shares in PKN Orlen
